The new Adverse Drug Interactions Program for Windows facilitates quicker and easier drug checking. This redesign was based upon feedback from hundreds of doctors. As always, the program utilizes the same database used to publish The Medical Letter's Handbook of Adverse Drug Interactions.

The Pulldown menus define all the actions of the Adverse Drug Interactions Program and provide an organized and easy way to select those actions.
The Toolbar buttons replicate the most common actions of items in the pulldown menus at top.
Upon program startup, the cursor is waiting and ready in the Text box, where the drug name must be entered. Type it into the box or select a drug from the list below.
The Drug name list is a scrolling list box containing over 3000 drug names. The scrolling list automatically looks up a drug name as it is typed into the text box above it.
The List of Drugs to Check is the list of drugs that will be checked for interactions. Up to 50 drugs may be entered within it. Drugs are added to this list by typing in the Text Box or selecting the drug names from the Drug Name List.
The Clear List button is located beneath the List of Drugs to Check. Clicking on the button will immediately clear the drugs from the list.
The Status bar is located at the very bottom of the Main Window. It provides information about a named drug list and gives its last modification date.
Reference citations may or may not be included in the Interactions Report. The easy-to-access Include Reference Citations checkbox on the Main Window provides a way to change that status.
The three Main program buttons are the Add button the Remove button and the RUN button. Once a drug name is entered into the small text box, clicking on the Add button will add the name of that drug into the List of Drugs to Check. Clicking on the Remove button will remove a selected drug from the List of Drugs to Check. Clicking on the RUN button will open a report window showing what the interactions are between the drugs in the List of Drugs to Check.
